Pastoral Care Specialist
International Experience: Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala, USA
Missional University is excited to welcome Dr. Kim Engelmann to the School of Missional Practice. She serves as Professor of Christian Spirituality with a specialty in pastoral care. Kim has served in local churches for over 35 years. Her leaning has always been toward the poor and disenfranchised, with a passion for both local and international missions. Her work in
creating a local community service model called “Service Worship” has been adopted in churches across the nation. She believes that God’s love should be tangibly demonstrated through an embodied presence in our missional practice. Beyond her local community, Kim has had the opportunity to lead many mission trips. She particularly enjoyed her work in Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala and on US Indian reservations and with migrant worker communities. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care from Boston University School of Theology and a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey. Kim lives in San Mateo, California and most recently has served as Senior Pastor for West Valley Presbyterian Church in Cupertino, California.
