Missional University welcomes Dr. Olugbenga “Akin” Ige in our Environmental Studies Department in the School of Ecological Mission! He brings with him more than thirty years of experience as a lecturer, teacher and professor of geology, environmental science and earth sciences. Originally from Nigeria, he holds a PhD in Geology from University of Ife (OAU) Nigeria. He also holds a Master of Science in Mineral Exploration from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria as well as a Master in Art of Teaching from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. Raised in a Christian home, he attended theological school on a part-time basis and became a passionate minister of the Gospel. He had the opportunity to be part of an evangelical team in the areas of Ile-Ife and preaching throughout Western Nigeria. God brought his family to the United States through a highly skilled migrant program and he volunteered as an Anglican pastor for four years while teaching as a professor. Most recently, he has lived and taught in New Jersey, where he also enjoys working as a volunteer professor to prison inmates in the New Jersey prison system. We are so happy to have Akin join us at Missional University!
