Professor of Military and Veteran Health


International Experience: United States

A mental health professional serving military service members and their families who seek counseling for a wide range of issues, Dr. Glori Sommerer has successfully delivered psycho-educational courses for a diverse client population in one-on-one and group settings. She has counseled individuals who are dealing with a wide range of issues (e.g. anxiety, stress, depression, and trauma). She has also served in a Family Life Chaplain Training Center where she counseled soldiers and families of soldiers struggling with a wide range of issues that included PTSD and marital issues. Her experiences growing up in a military family has given her a first-hand view of military life that benefits those she serves in the military community. Dr. Sommerer has a PhD in Health Psychology from Walden University and two master’s degrees in psychology and counseling. She and her family live near Fort Hood, TX.
