Missional University is excited to welcome Howard Woodruff to the School of Community Ministry! He serves as Professor of Disaster & Crisis Response and is a Crisis Preparation and Intervention specialist. Howard brings more than twenty years of experience as a pastor and more than thirty years of experience in emergency response as a paramedic, Director of Emergency Services and Chaplain. Certified as a Master Chaplain and Trauma Expert through the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, Howard has served in national and international tragedies such as the Flight 800 tragedy, 9-11 in New York City, superstorm Katrina, and the Tsunami in India. Currently, Howard serves as a Senior Pastor in the state of Maryland where he has been called to help the community deal with a five-year long struggle with the death of many teenagers due to trauma and drug abuse. He also serves in a variety of volunteer roles including as a Pennsylvania State Police Chaplain. Howard holds a Doctor of Ministry degree on Health and Spirituality from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He and his wife of 34 years reside in Marysville, PA.
